I wouldn't say Tony is always kid friendly. I mean, he's friendly toward kids, don't get me wrong, but some of his work is downright inappropriate for anyone under 34. I will say he has created some lovely recordings and videos for and with children. That's high praise, considering that in my house you can get your butt snapped with a wet towel just for using the word "lovely."

ALPHABITES was a project with his son Boone to help him learn his ABC's. They shot a lot of stop-motion animation together over a year's time, trying with obviously little success to STOP BUMPING INTO THE CAMERA. They recruited Boone's brother Lincoln and sister Genevieve to help too. In early 2009, the song and video were picked up by WTTW, Chicago's PBS television station, to be broadcast as interstitials during kids programming.

LITTLE PEA was composed as a companion piece to the children's book of the same name, written by Amy Krause Rosenthal, Tony's friend, collaborator, and all-around cool creative chick. You can buy the book on Amazon or in any decent bookstore... there are already two sequels (Little Hoot and Little Oink). The song was featured on a Land of Nod "Nodcast" with a practically professional introduction by Amy's daughter Paris. Tony hates peas.

Listen to the "Little Pea" song.

If you believe what Tony says, the following collection of songs was written and recorded for the heck of it. IF YOU WANNA BE A BABY was included on the Music From the Heart charity compilation benefitting the American Heart Association. Tony claims that THE ANT WHO STEPS ON KIDS is real.
